What do your limiting beliefs say about you?

When it comes to your career, how much money are you worth?  If I ask you to take out a sheet of paper and write down what you feel you are worth per year, what would you write?  Now, why did you write down that number?  There are people doing what you do that make less and people who make more.  The truth is, whatever number you wrote down will be all you will ever make.  This is your limiting belief.  Jim Carrey once said that he wrote himself a check for ten million dollars for acting services rendered.  He gave himself 5 years and dated it for Thanksgiving of 1995.  Just before thanksgiving in 1995, he found out he was going to make ten million dollars from Dumb and Dumber.  He had a belief that he was worth it.  He put in the hard work and he made it happen!  While he was working his way to Dumb and Dumber, he spent time visualizing roles coming to him and how he would do it.  In the end, he too got what he felt he was worth.

Now that you know this, would you change the dollar amount you put on that piece of paper?  Is it higher?  Then I ask, what are you going to do to get it?  You will have to do what you have never done to get what you have never had.

Along the same lines, limiting beliefs affect more than just your money. Limiting beliefs affect your life, sometime significantly.   It is easy to look at those who we consider great and wish we were them or wish we were afforded the same opportunities.  The truth is, this is the exact mindset that will keep you from being the great person you truly can be.  Give yourself a chance not an excuse.  Whatever it is you want to do, go do it.  Every Champion started as a clueless novice.  Even if people tell you it is not possible.   Nothing is impossible unless you have the limiting belief that it is.  There are not outliers in this world.  There are merely those who do and those who do not.  Which one are you going to be?
