It was a cool fall morning, a young mother and her son went to the park to play. As they arrived, the young boy took off to play. The mother sat down on a bench beside a man she didn't know. “That is my son” she said, pointing over to the little boy who was on the slide. “What a fine young boy you have there” he said. “That is my daughter over there on the bike.”
You!
It was a Monday morning, people started to head to work, it seemed like a usual day. For one business though, as staff started to arrive, they found a note on the entrance door that stated “Yesterday, the person who has been holding back your development has passed away. We invite you to join us for visitations in the conference room.”
Are you ready?
Social Media (warning)!
What you accept is what you teach
I have mentioned in previous posts that the world we live in has something to teach us, every day. This is the 30,000' view. If we were to zoom in from 30,000’ view down to the human element, what we begin to see is this. It is not the world that is teaching us, it is people. Every day, we see the interactions of others. We see parents who love each other, friends who laugh together and co-workers who respect and support each other.
Two Non-Verbal life hacks!
Did you know a substantial amount of our communication is done through non-verbal cues? Facial expressions like rolling of the eyes, smiles, looking away, playing with hair play a big part in the perception others have of us. This even includes hand shakes, posture and clothing we wear amongst many other things.
Fault!
Does this look familiar? How easy is it to find fault in others, to blame them for something that went wrong? Yea, it is pretty easy, actually.. that is why people do it. If I blame others, that means I am not accountable for fixing it nor am I responsible for the damage it causes. We blame others for the stresses in our lives, for the weight we have gained, for picking up bad habits like smoking and yada yada... BLAME … BLAME ..BLAME. We love it..don't we? Well, not really but it seems that way.
